Strengthening Southeast Asia’s Energy Security Through System Integration & Grid Flexibility

FESSIA shapes policy, supports market development, and builds partnerships to scale system integration and grid flexibility across Asia

Who We Are

FESSIA is a non-profit alliance advancing battery energy storage systems (BESS), grid flexibility, and system integration across Asia. We work with policymakers, developers, utilities, and industry leaders to turn ambition into scalable, deployable solutions.

By aligning perspectives across the energy ecosystem, we support coordinated approaches to policy, market development, and system integration.

ASEAN Tier 1 Markets

Based in Singapore, we focus on Tier 1 markets in Vietnam and the Philippines, with expansion across ASEAN.

Members

Our members include leading BESS and grid developers, manufacturers, and technology providers driving key projects and deployments across ASEAN.
"Robust policy frameworks, transparent market incentives, and a collaborative regional agenda are essential. Trinasolar is immensely proud to be an inaugural FESSIA member, and we are committed to working with policymakers, regulators, and industry partners to shape BESS into a fundamental pillar of Asia's energy future."
Helena Li
Executive President, Trinasolar
"The Carbon Trust is pleased to join as a founding member of FESSIA and looks forward to supporting the development of modern, flexible electricity grids underpinned by storage, digitalisation and system integration. Critical developments like these are the key to unlocking the next phase of clean energy growth in Southeast Asia."
Wei Mei Hum
Head of Asia, Carbon Trust
"We joined FESSIA because ASEAN’s energy transition is a shared system challenge. Progress depends on strong collaboration between industry, policymakers, and utilities to build resilient, future‑proof energy systems that support growth, security, and sustainability across the region."

Shape Asia’s Energy Future with Us

The future of energy storage, grid flexibility, and system integration in ASEAN will be shaped by those actively building and enabling it. FESSIA brings together industry, policymakers, and system experts to turn ambition into deployable solutions. Whether you represent an organisation or are looking to engage with the ecosystem, there is a place for you within the alliance.

The Challenge and the Solution Ahead

Southeast Asia is adding solar and wind power at impressive speed, yet integrating these variable renewables while keeping the lights on remains one of the biggest hurdles to a successful energy transition.

Our Partners

FESSIA works with leading global and regional organisations across the energy ecosystem, including REN21, the Global Solar Council, the Long Duration Energy Storage Council, and national alliances across ASEAN.
